The Specialist

Owns a narrow space deeper than anyone else.

You don't want to compete in big crowded markets. You want to be the obvious answer in a small, weird, hard-to-enter one. Specialization is your moat. The narrower the better, as long as the customers exist and will pay.

Your edge is depth. You'll spend the weeks it takes to actually understand a vertical (legal, dental, marine logistics, whatever) and ship something that a generalist tool can't touch. Buyers in your niche know you by name within a year.
